WHY WE WENT

We wanted an easy first venture into traveling with kids and this was it.

HOW LONG WE STAYED

WHO WENT

Dave, Ana and Owen (5 months)

WHERE WE WENT

We headed straight south to the Algarve and then spent a couple nights in Lisbon at the end.

HOW WE DID PORTUGAL

We stayed in the town of Tavira, on the south east coast. It has everything we needed.

Time change

Owen was already sleeping through the night (7am - 7pm) and this was our first venture into time change. It’s a 5 hour time change for us so since that’s pretty significant, we decided to mess with it and put him on a 9am to 9pm schedule. That way we all got to sleep in and also enjoy late dinners out along with everyone else.

Walks in the stroller over the cobblestone put him right to sleep.

Transportation

We rented a car for only about a week of this trip in order to cut costs so for the most part, we stayed in our small town and just walked everywhere or took a train.

Accommodations

Sorry, folks, I have a condo there so that’s where we stayed. There are a number of hotels and AirBnbs though that are worth looking into.

Our days

We'd wake up at 9, stroll into town for breakfast, stroll home to pack for the beach, went to the beach, went home for showers and a change and then went out for a late dinner. And repeat. It was so chill!
